July 2022

Dev Intern, Fortil France

As an intern, I joined a team where everyone already known eachother. It was the IT Department and the company support. The department was in full change : my mentor and director was leaving the company two days after I start working. Two weeks later, we were moving in another building. I learned a lot by this special situation.

I first worked on a powershell script. I didn't known Powershell before that. The script I worked on was already existing, developped by another company for Fortil few years ago. With Fortil grew a lot during these few years, it wasn't really adapted to their needs. It was my job to adapt it (and a few debugging too). This script is managing Azure Active Directory users so the IT Department doesn't have to do it by hands, one by one.

I also worked on a python script. I already known python from high school but i didn't practiced it in years. I moved files and encrypt and decrypt them. It was really interesting.

Animator

As an animator, I was in charge of children all day long. I had difficulties at the beginning: I didn't know how to express my authority over children that I don't know. It was easier with the youngest, and hardest with the 10-12 years old children. Now I think I got the thing.

I first worked with 4-5 years old children. I loved it, it is about explaining to them things and taking their hands in their development as humans. I worked with an incredible woman who taught me a lot about the job, accompaniment, motivation, positive authority, and teamwork.

As an animator, my days were filled with sports and talking loudly. It is exhausting and I had the feeling that I couldn't make any mistakes. Driving was a real challenge, as I am used the riding a bike alone and not a big 12 seats-car with exciting children.
